LET YOUR NATURE THRIVE | Hailey Arnold

Meet Hailey Arnold, the third feature of our interview series: Let Your Nature Thrive. In this series we're connecting with people from all walks of life to help us explore what happens when you let nature do its thing — on our skin, on our planet, and in our lives.

Hailey is a wedding photographer and long-time CRUDE user living in Utah. Before using CRUDE, Hailey suffered with the chronic, difficult to treat acne that many of us can relate with. 50 million Americans now suffer from acne, and that number is fast on the rise. Our plant-based, less-is-more approach has helped Hailey and thousands of others kiss their acne goodbye, once and for all, by supporting the skin and it’s healthy, bustling biome.

We love seeing Hailey’s skin thrive, and we wanted to know more about the amazing woman behind the radiant complexion. Check out Hailey’s interview below to learn about her experience with acne, her wedding day skincare routine, and how she lets her nature thrive through personal care and more.

CRUDE: IN 2-3 SENTENCES, TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF.

HAILEY: I’m a mountain loving girl from Idaho, dwelling in the beautiful state of Utah. I’m a creative at heart and am lucky to use that creativity in my occupation. I’m a wedding photographer and love everything about it. Romance, nature, beauty and human connection are all things I strive to have in my life.

CRUDE: WHAT WAS IT LIKE HAVING ACNE?

HAILEY: Acne can be so debilitating. I only felt beautiful with makeup on and honestly didn’t feel like myself most of the time. It made me want to stay home because sometimes I didn’t want to wear makeup but I couldn’t stand the idea of running to Target with my acne in full view.

CRUDE: HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT CRUDE?  WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO TRY IT?

HAILEY: I heard first about the oil pulling method and tried a few drugstore oils. It initially helped and I was happy with the results in such a short time but the experience wasn’t everything I wanted. Most oils I tried had an unpleasant smell or would stain my cloths. I saw a friend post about Crude and I knew I’d found it. A line of products with more skin benefits, cute packaging and curated oils specifically for the things I was struggling with - plus a detox mask that I was so curious to add to my routine.

CRUDE: TELL US ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE USING CRUDE.

HAILEY: When I first used the Crude Cleanse oil I was so stoked to find out it smells amazing. Oil pulling is such a relaxing and honestly luxurious experience. My skin feels nourished and clean and moisturized every time. When I started Crude I still had crazy acne, as I’d only been oil pulling a few weeks. Crude really jump started my healing process and changed my skin forever. I still struggle with hormonal blemishes here and there but my skin feels beautiful regardless and my new normal is no makeup. I feel more beautiful in my natural no makeup look than I ever felt before with the fullest glam.

CRUDE: CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT!  WHAT WILL YOUR WEDDING DAY BEAUTY REGIMEN ENTAIL?

HAILEY: Thank you!! Obviously the morning will start with the detox mask, then cleanse oil as usual and my lovely make-up artist will give me the natural glam of my dreams.

CRUDE: OUR TAGLINE IS "LET YOUR NATURE THRIVE".  WE'RE INTERESTED IN WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU LET YOUR NATURE DO ITS' THING, BOTH IN AND ON YOUR BODY- AND ALSO IN YOUR LIFE.  HOW DO YOU LET YOUR OWN, UNIQUE NATURE THRIVE?  WHAT MAKES YOU 'YOU' AND HOW DO YOU EXPRESS THAT IN YOUR LIFE?

HAILEY: How I dress and groom myself has a lot to do with who I am and how I express myself. I am drawn towards clothes that don’t require a lot of maintenance when wearing so it feels like an extension of me. My skincare and makeup routine are very similar. I don’t use products that feel invasive or hide what I look like. I like playing with fun patterns and colors as a way to express but never lines or geometric shapes. I’m a water sign and like all things to flow naturally - whether that be my communications with other humans, my hobbies or the things I put on my body. In that way I feel connected to nature and how nature exists. Nothing is ever exactly symmetrical or in a perfectly straight line, but everything is in its right place. Thank you for helping me get back in tune with my skin so I can focus on my connections and not to break outs.
