After reading about oil cleansing online, I started experimenting with it back in 2012—despite it contradicting everything I had learned as a Master Esthetician. Oil was supposed to cause acne, right? A week later, my skin was clearer than it had been in years. Thus began the obsessive research and experimentation that would lead to CRUDE, starting with my first product:  EVERYTHING Oil (now known as CLEANSE).

In 2017, we have thousands of customers all over the world who have used CRUDE on their face to heal their acne, eczema, rosacea, and more. The testimonials keep pouring in…but why? Why does CRUDE work despite modern beauty techniques telling us to strip, scrub, exfoliate and remove the oil from our skin? The solution to problematic skin is much simpler than the skin care industry would have us believe, and it starts with the removal of one of the most widely used grooming products in the world: soap.

Current research shows that not only is soap unnecessary for daily cleansing, it’s actually harmful to the skin. Soap destroys your skin’s natural moisture barrier, a built-in shield that keeps disease-causing bacteria out and holds vital moisture in. Soap also wreaks havoc on your skin’s microbiome—the bacteria that work directly with your immune system to regulate your skin’s health. Soap kills these helpful bugs, depriving you of the many natural skincare benefits they offer. Soap also disrupts your skin’s pH, and creates inflammation in the skin, which leads to inflammatory skin diseases like acne, eczema, psoriasis and many other skin conditions.

I'm not the only ones questioning suds. In just the last few years, The New York Times, The Atlantic, Time, Forbes, IFL Science, NBC, Buzzfeed News, and more have all caught on to the idea as research continues to show the importance of oil and bacteria in skincare, and the major role inflammation plays in skin disease.

Your skin care products should work to assist, not override, the skin and its natural regenerative systems.  They should promote bacterial diversity and homeostasis, and contribute to skin regeneration without the use of inflammatory agents. They should leave no trace” on the skin’s living ecosystems and natural moisture barrier. They should be simple, plant-based, and sustainably sourced/created. They should be efficient—using minimal ingredients, causing minimal inflammation, and using minimal waste while still being highly effective.

I’ve seen the amazing results of soap-free cleansing for the face, but I wanted a body wash that also met these criteria. I scoured the internet for soap-free cleansers, but the only ones I could find still had detergent in them, which is still incredibly disruptive to the skin. So I decided to take matters into my own hands, using nature as my inspiration. I’ve spent the last two years perfecting the all-natural, soap-free, skin-loving cleansing lotion of my dreams, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I hope you love it as much as I do.

Introducing WASH, the first
truly soap and detergent-free body wash.

Hear what our trial users had to say:

"I have honestly struggled so much with soap and just having weird allergic reactions to so many, that this wash has been a dream. Thank you so much!"

"WASH is natural and doesn't cause irritation on my hoo-ha.”

"I have sores and dry skin from ulcerative colitis. My skin itches to the point of me scratching it raw! I no longer do that! The itching is 85% gone! I still have sores on my upper back but they have decreased 50%"

"As a women's health nurse practitioner, I would recommend this to anyone who suffers from chronic bacterial vaginosis or yeast infections! I seriously wish I could give samples to every one of my patients!!"

"Loved the added moisture to my skin! No need to apply creams or lotions after a shower (which is amazing because I'm lazy). Love love loved it for my baby (9 months old). His skin feels amazing after and it's so gentle. Smells incredible without being overpowering."

"I noticed that I definitely stank less within the use! I would normally be embarrassed by how stinky I would get after just a normal day or at the gym, but I don't have to worry about that anymore. I also noticed that the wash was gentle enough on my southern region, which was ordinarily irritated. Once I started cleansing with the wash it soothed any irritation."

It’s time to ditch the suds and get back to nature. It’s time to truly love your skin.

It’s time to live CRUDE.
